About Us

After age 55, adults lose an average of 1–2 pounds of muscle per year — and that rate accelerates with advanced age. This loss of strength impacts more than just fitness. It affects everyday life: carrying groceries, getting up from the floor, playing golf, dressing independently, or keeping up with grandchildren.

The good news? Muscle loss and functional decline are not inevitable. With the right approach, many of the physical challenges associated with aging can be slowed — and even reversed.

Senior Wellness Connections goes beyond personal training. We specialize in in-home, individualized functional fitness for adults 55+. Our team treats clients like family, building meaningful relationships while delivering evidence-based programming tailored to each person’s needs.

Our Functional Aging Specialists focus on:

  • Fall prevention

  • Strength and muscle preservation

  • Mobility and joint health

  • Cognitive engagement

  • Social connection

Whether you’re 55, 85, or 95, our goal is simple: help you build confidence, maintain independence, and continue doing the things you love — safely and strongly.

Areas Of Focus

Functional Fitness

Gardening, grocery shopping, golfing, tennis, playing with grandchildren, getting dressed; these all require specific muscles and movements.  Our specialists will design a program with these in mind to make them easier, and more enjoyable!

Strength

Individuals over the age of 55 will loose 2 lbs of muscle mass each year.  By instilling a regular resistance training routine you can not only maintain, but improve your overall strength!

Mobility

Talk about function!  Mobility is the essence of living an independent life.  Unfortunately, due to safety concerns, aches and pains, or an increase in sedentary lifestyle movement may become less and less a priority.

Cognitive/Emotional

Exercise that induces an increase in heart rate will also include blood flow to the brain.  This increase in oxygen delivery to the brain improves cognitive functioning.  Exercise also releases those feel good hormones and endorphins.

Balance

Incorporating daily balance exercises into your every day routine is a great way to prevent falls.  Currently, 1 in 4 adults over the age of 65 will fall each year, with 1 in 5 causing serious injury including broken bones or head injury.

Flexibility

Stretching daily can reduce the symptoms from arthritis, and in general, those daily aches and pains.
